Gotta love the rain. Nothing like wearing a jacket on the beach, right?! The pictures are great and you definitely are getting some good "facebook" style photos. I'll enjoy reading as you keep posting... i keep procrastinating on my studying (i have my first essay test tomorrow in 6 years?!!). Weird!

Anyway, look forward to hearing more and we'll chat soon.Shawn Balonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15736805879283872791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5423861701797193689.post-24468376832677779792010-09-20T16:56:02.910-07:002010-09-20T16:56:02.910-07:00hey kok wan!!!
thanks so much for commenting, all...hey kok wan!!!

thanks so much for commenting, all of this is just so new and different. It's really good to have someone (ie you) be able to explain some of it.

1. i've definitely made an effort to be adventurous. I don't really like fish, but I decided to give it a try and discovered that it's pretty good. In small bites. :)

6. I believe I came away with some sort of shower wash (they called it gel water), wash cloths, and this little tiny things that i think are for makeup removal but are sold in a kleenex-like box and call face puffs. In my mind puffs=kleenex!

8. definitely KFC.

10. definitely skype us! we have leah_chambers (when i'm at work and can only type) and orlando.chambers (when we're at home and can type or video chat)

thanks for reading, i'm sure my writing style has changed quite a bit since paris!!Brian and Leah Chambershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02256076024943736542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5423861701797193689.post-28139370763195303722010-09-20T08:09:15.799-07:002010-09-20T08:09:15.799-07:00I smile reading through your blog entries. I hope...I smile reading through your blog entries. I hope you find the willingness to continue throughout your stay.

1. The fish prepared this way is very common. When it comes to meat of any kind, not much gets left to waste. I'm glad to hear you've been adventurous enough to try these dishes.

2. "but we toasted a lot." I laughed out loud when I read this. Very cute.

6. Dare I ask what they were then?

7. The porridge is called "jook". And yes, much of it is bland, but flavored with all of the other things you listed. In some places, you can get "gai jook", which is flavored with chicken broth and shredded chicken for a bit more flavor.

8. KFC, right? ;-)

9. Now you know why they make the toilet paper rolls without the tubes. Makes it easier to carry around? :)

10. Yay for international mail! Not sure how the time difference is going to work out, but I'll be sure to add you to my Skype.

Enjoy the adventure and thanks for sharing.kmahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755632432120162839noreply@blogger.com
